Cảm Ơn, Mẹ (tr. Thank you, Mother) is a visual retelling of the Vietnam War through the eyes of its women, who's stories are often untold in popular media depictions of the event. With an overarching theme of motherhood, the three chosen stories have been expressed with their own distinct styles to suit their differing narratives. These include the dramatic tale of South Vietnam's First Lady Madame Nhu and her regime's downfall; the harrowing details of a civilian mother's wartime experiences; and a doctor's uplifting take on the affected child victims of chemical defoliant Agent Orange.
