A day’s routine
Digital, pencil, biro - December 2020
A Day’s Routine was created in response to a brief that asked for a sequence showcasing a journey I take in my everyday life in a series of 6 sketches.
The journey I wished to illustrate was the one I had been taking mentally to accompany the physical one I took everyday at my boarding school under COVID-19 restrictions when away from my home in Vietnam for the first time. As the days passed, I slowly began to feel as if no matter what I preoccupied myself with my mind would float elsewhere - as if I were a little person on the sidelines watching this version of myself from afar in this out-of-body experience. Throughout my short story, various scenes from a typical day in my life are shown featuring a miniature character personifying this state of mind at these different points of the journey.
